Motto:
Ride Cool
Chapter Color:
Chapter M began life on May
2, 1983. Texas had 2 Districts , North and South. A year
later sub chapters were formed. North was Texas 2 and South
was Texas 1, having the state of Texas as part of Region H.
The Moonlighters were originally called Chapter M, TX/2.
We believe that the “M”
designation was because this was the only chapter in the
Metroplex.
Early members were from
the following cities:
Terrell,
Lewisville, Plano, Garland, Rowlett, Rockwall, Mesquite,
Irving, Denton, Grand Prairie, Dallas, Red Oak, Duncanville,
DeSoto, Cedar Hill, Mansfield, Arlington, Bedford, Burleson,
Crowley, and Fort Worth.
In the early
days the Chapter Director was known as the Area

You will note
that some years had more than one AR or CD. That occurred
because some years the officers changed mid year and some
years they changed in January.
We do have some old
pictures and some old newsletters.
About 10 years
ago a letter came out from district that every chapter
should have a nickname and a motto.
Since our rally
was called the "Moonlight Madness", it was only natural that
we should be called the
Moonlighters.
Warren submitted this to district and it has been such ever
since. It was a
spin-off of our Moonlight Madness Rally which included a
night poker run as well as a rally.
One evening
coming back from a rally in Wichita Falls, it got quite cool
on the way home. James Skipworth came over the CB and said,
"There's a bright moon out, and we're riding cool!" "Ride
Cool"
became our motto from this statement. |
